Catelynn Lowell was the 6th episode to air on the hit reality television show called, 16 and Pregnant. She gained many fans quickly for her strength, independence, and sweetness. Tyler & Catelynn have been together since 7th grade! Wow! Their love striking relationship led to Catelynn giving birth to a baby, but she decided to go with adoption. Why? Catelynn & Tyler's families are pretty much dramatic! Tyler's dad, Butch, stays in and out of jail and rehab. Catelynn's mom has a temper and is unpredictable. Their family was not supportive at ALL of their decision to place the baby up for adoption. Tyler's mom, Kim, was the only supportive one in their family. Catelynn & Tyler found an adoption agency in order to explore their options. Once there, they met their social worker, Dawn, who gave them some portfolios to look through with parents who were looking to adopt. She said that sometimes the kindest thing one can do is be selfless and give up the baby. Tyler & Catelynn looked through the parent books and found a family that was perfect, Brandon & Teresa. When Tyler's dad, Butch, found out about their decision, he goes wacko! However, Catelynn & Tyler didn't let him change their minds, they continued to talk with Dawn about a hospital plan for when the baby came. Even though, Catelynn was a little scared about not being able to endure the hurt or guilt she might face, her and Tyler met their baby's adoptive parents. Once they met, it was admiration at first sight. Catelynn explained to them why she was wanting to give them the gift of her child. It was a match! Later on Catelynn's mom exploded when she heard that Catelynn & Tyler met with the baby's adoptive parents. When her due date approached, Catelynn and Tyler hurried to create some mementos for their daughter. The day came. Carolyn "Carly" Elizabeth was born into the world. Catelynn & Tyler didn't want to quite hold her at first. After a few hours, though, they did. Finally, they let Brandon & Teresa hold baby Carly. As we all knew it, tears flooded out from the room. The next day, it was time to hand the baby over to Brandon and Teresa for good. For one last moment, Catelynn and Tyler looked down at their daughter and took her in -- this bundle of potential created by their love, assured a better life through their courage and strength of character. They then handed her off and watched as Brandon, Teresa, and the baby drove away. Catelynn and Tyler then began to build their future anew.

MTV released an all new show that was a spin-off from 16 and Pregnant, it was called, Teen Mom, that featured the lives of 4 young moms- Maci, Farrah, Amber, & Catelynn. As the first Teen Mom season began we got to see Catelynn move back home with her disapproving family and endure the distance she had from her baby since the adoption. Still, Catelynn's parents were not supportive, and lashed out about their decision constantly. Her mother decided to move away, and Catelynn struggled to find a home to live in, because she was definitely not going to live with her family. Catelynn moved in with Tyler and his mom temporarily. Catelynn's guilt about placing her daughter up for adoption still wasn't getting any better so her adoption agent, Dawn, suggested her to go on a birth mom retreat to help cope with her decision. Catelynn learned a lot at the retreat by talking with other moms and listening to ways to work through her guilt. She came back home and was feeling better about her decision. When Catelynn arrived back home, the drama with her and Tyler's family arose once more. Her and Tyler found out that Butch might have to go back to jail, however, Catelynn & Tyler kept focused on their future. Tyler finally worked up the nerve to propose to Catelynn. He got approval from both families and took her out to a romantic dinner without telling her the special occasion. While eating dinner, he emotionally popped the question, Catelynn said yes, and the couple ended with a happy season.
After Season 1, Season 2 began. We first got to see Catelynn move back in with her parents as things were got kind of hairy staying at Tyler's house. Tyler caught Catelynn in a lie and was angry about it as well. Eventually, Catelynn & Tyler made up and went ice-skating on Valentine's day and attended Senior Prom in which they won Prom King and Queen. Carly's 1st birthday came and Catelynn & Tyler celebrated with a cake and showered her with birthday presents. This season, Tyler also had trouble working through his grieve about the decision to give up his daughter, Carly, so he talked with a birthdad and that seemed to help. Catelynn & Tyler also learned in episode 9 that Butch ended up back in the Big House. To make matters worse, Catelynn & Tyler, found out that they
would not graduate high school on time. Just as things were a little on the rough side, Dawn, their adoption social worker, informed them that they were going to be able to visit their daughter, Carly. This season ties up when Catelynn & Tyler spend an emotional reunion with Carly and her adoptive parents in West Virginia. They go to the park, eat breakfast together the next morning, and exchange some gifts. They all had a great time! Instead of saying goodbye, it was "See You Later!"
After Season 2, Season 3 appeared on MTV. Tyler & Catelynn first think about moving in together. Tyler's dad, Butch, is let out of prison and reunites with the family while Catelynn works on her strained relationship with her mom. After Catelynn & Tyler bought their home, they looked for jobs so they could pay the bills. Catelynn attended a weekend birth mom retreat to cope with her fears about her & Tyler's adoption plan for Carly. Christmas was just around the corner, so Catelynn, Tyler and their families went out to shop to buy presents for Carly. I'm sure she had another great Christmas with all those presents she received! Another special moment happened on this season of Teen Mom. Catelynn got to reunite with her father for the first time since the adoption. Just when thinks couldn't get better in Catelynn & Tyler's 'picture perfect' relationship, they have a fallout. As many couples do, they worked through the issues and were back on the right road. Catelynn finally finished school and she took Tyler out to celebrate. At the very end of the season, Butch moved in with Catelynn & Tyler, who made a hard decision about Carly.

Now, Catelynn & Tyler's relationship has grown even more. They have set their wedding date for next year! How exciting!? They also have gotten to visit Carly more since back in Season 1. Also recently, Catelynn & Tyler have gotten the opportunity to talk with high schools about their story, teen pregnancy/prevention, and different ways to explore options when pregnant. Catelynn, Tyler, and their dogs moved into their dream home. It was a fixer upper, but Tyler & Catelynn's great tastes made it turn out gorgeous! I'm so proud of them and so are Brandon, Teresa, and Carly. Catelynn & Tyler have graduated high school and have enrolled into Baker College for the following school year. Tyler plans being a youth counselor, and Catelynn plans on being an adoption counselor just like Dawn. I have to say that they're futures are looking bright! Catelynn & her mom have had a rocky relationship ever since the adoption and they are trying to better their relationship and move past their issues. Catelynn & Tyler have seemed to settle down and gotten their life together! I know one day, that Catelynn & Tyler will become fabulous parents!
