BIO
Farrah Abraham was the second episode of 16 and Pregnant to air. When Farrah gave birth to her baby, she seemed to spend more time 'looking for boys' than being a parent to her daughter, Sophia. Eventually, the mommy stage set in and she dropped partying and 'boy looking' to settle down and actually make a good living for herself and her daughter. As Farrah continues to grow older, I seem to keep liking her even more. She has been a very successful mom going on a variety of business ventures, graduating from college, and doing it all on her own with no support from anyone. On her episode of 16 and Pregnant, Farrah was a popular cheerleading that went to Thomas Jefferson High School. When she found out she was pregnant, she didn't tell her baby's father because they weren't quite getting along very good at the time. She only told a few of her closest, trustworthy best friends. Farrah was wrong at doing that! Zabrina (a girl that was told about Farrah being pregnant), told everyone, which lead to rumors, name calling, etc. Her cheerleading team was treating her simply like "trash" so she quit the team and left Thomas Jefferson High School. She then transitioned to taking her courses online. Sophia Laurent was born into the world in February of 2009. Debra (Farrah's mother) helped Farrah out as much as possible with baby care, but they often bickered about a range of things.
MTV released an all new show that was a spin-off from 16 and Pregnant, it was called, Teen Mom, that featured the lives of 4 young moms- Maci, Farrah, Amber, and Catelynn. As the first Teen Mom season began, we got to see Farrah adjust to motherhood, go to college, try to keep a social life, and keep a stable job so she could provide for Sophia. Farrah dated A LOT during the first season of Teen Mom against her parent's wishes. All the guys that Farrah thought would work, never really did work out in the end. During the mid season, Farrah shifted her focus to her daughter, Sophia, and lost the 'boy crazy' attitude. As Farrah spent more time with her daughter, things got kind of hairy in her parent's home, but Farrah learned to make peace with her mom.
After Season 1, Season 2 began. The very first episode started out with a 911 call Farrah made to the police. Farrah reported that her mom allegedly punched her in the nose (which caused some bleeding) because of a big fight they got into. Afterwards, Farrah thought the best decision was to move out of her parent's home and live on her own with Sophia. Working, going to college, paying bills, living in her own place, and taking care of Sophia while just being a teenager was not easy! Many things were going through Farrah's head during this time, so she thought counseling would be a good thing to try out. She went to her first session and announced an emotional secret to her counselor. That emotional secret was that Sophia's father, Derek Underwood, passed away in a car accident before Sophia was born. Farrah's mom also went to another counseling session with Farrah later on in the season and they learned how to have more communication with each other. In addition, Farrah also found out that she got scammed $3,000 on her car. That scenario, really cracked down on her budget. Her money was tighter than ever, so she considerd moving back in with her parents. In an attempt to get more money for Sophia, Farrah reached out to Derek's family to help get Social Security Benefits for Sophia. Sophia's dad's sister showed up to take the DNA test and Sophia was able to get the benefits she deserved! Yay! Farrah & Derek's sister also got the chance to talk and have a mini reunion.
After Season 2, Season 3 appeared on MTV. Farrah went on a modeling journey and struggled not seeing Sophia. Farrah also got a breast implant which comes in handy for her modeling career. Not only did these events happen, but Farrah had to, yet, face someone else in court. That very person was her baby's father's mother who was wanting visitation rights with Sophia. Farrah did not agree with what she was doing, so they went to court. While dealing with all this, Farrah still needed to manage her school credits. Her hard work payed off when she graduated with her associate's degree. Farrah stuggled a lot in this season with Derek's death. Farrah & Sophia spent time together with Derek's father, Jerry, and step-mom, Debbie, and visited Derek's grave. After her associate's degree, Farrah decided that she wanted to move some place off to finish her education and start fresh. She tried California, Arizona, and finally, Florida which was the perfect place for her and Sophia to move. However, Farrah's parents didn't think it was a good idea for Sophia to move to Florida with Farrah so they tried to talk her out of it.
Farrah has had past boyfriends, but none of them have been Mr. Right. Turns out, Farrah decided to take Sophia to Florida with her and that seemed to work out great! Farrah learned how to be a single, independent mom. She's currently finishing up her bachelor's degree and is always going on some kind of business adventure. Farrah also takes time out of her busy schedule to public speak and talk to colleges/universities about her story and teen pregnany/prevention. Farrah also recently participated in the March of Dimes Foundation. Along with her food interests, she still models. She even wrote a book (that is available for pre-order now on Amazon) that is called My Teenage Dream Ended. I'm very excited about reading that! It seems like Farrah has really been the one to step up and accomplish fantastic things. Congratulations Farrah! I wish you and Sophia the best future!
very proud of you Farrah for being a strong mom and making a good situation out of a challenging one . You are smart, sweet, loving and talented mom. I hope your experiences and the other teem moms will help and encourage other teen moms who think they cant make it or may face challenges.
