Tyler & Catelynn's 8 Year Relationship

Who might the cutest couple on the planet be? I think almost everybody could guess that one correct! The answer is Tyler Baltierra & Catelynn Lowell! We have watched Catelynn & Tyler's relationship grow ever since Catelynn gave birth to her daughter and placed her up for adoption while being filmed. Catelynn & Tyler knew they were not able to provide their daughter with everything she needed and ever deserved so they made sure they had an open adoption plan and that she was placed into a nice, adoptive home. Even though their strength and lovey dovey relationship was what really got me, I thought how they met and how long they have been together was something to be proud of too!

Catelynn & Tyler have been dating for 8 years now! 8 years! That's longer than what most marriages and relationships last! They also have went one step further and have a wedding date set and plan on getting married next year! How exciting!? Now comes the question, how did they meet? Well folks, they met in 7th grade music class. Tyler quotes:

"I have loved her since the moment I saw her. Her punk rocker hair and attitude matched perfectly for my edgy, hyper personality. I asked her why she fell in love with me and I quote "you could always make me laugh."

Now seriously, how cute is that!? Tyler also goes on to quote:

"That love eventually led to a baby, we are now the proud parents of a beautiful little girl named Carly, who was born May 18th, 2009. That day changed my life, forever. Because of the instability in our homes, being the tender age of sixteen, and having the epiphany of knowing our daughter deserved better, we decided it would be best to place our daughter in a completely open adoption. We chose that option with one person in mind—our daughter, because she deserved the best and at the time I couldn't provide her the best. As a parent, I made the greatest sacrifice in order to provide her with the best life. "

"We know we made the right decision for her. Since the day we discovered Catelynn’s pregnancy, we have completely turned our lives around for the better. We want to make our daughter proud of us and we want her to know that we will always love and adore her, with every bone, breath, and heartbeat we have."

Tyler & Catelynn are enrolling in Baker College for this year. Tyler is going to college to become a youth counselor. He plants to open a runaway house for children to escape their abusive families. He's very passionate about helping kids who are struggling in ways similar to the struggles he's faced in his past. Catelynn is going to college to be an adoption conselor just like Dawn. Having spoken at multiple high schools and birthparent retreats has given her the oppurtunity to share her story and inform teenage girls about options in unplanned pregnancies. Their futures sound great! They also recently bought their dream home and have been working hard to fix it up. You can find pictures of their new home in another blog I wrote.
